Sustainability
Transformer's Aim
-
-
- Transformer encourages the use of recycled papers wherever possible when printing on behalf of our clients. We have established a good relationship with Spicers papers who can supply full technical specifications and accreditation information on their recycled papers.
- We use printers and print brokers who are experienced with recycled papers and can offer expert advice in this area.
- We are committed to using recycled papers in our own promotional material. Our stationery is usually printed on 9 lives recycled or similar.
- Around 2 years ago we switched to Meridian as our supplier of energy to the studio because we believe their energy to be produced from more renewable sources than the other providers available to us.
- We have established links with a good print broker in Australia so now whenever we print work for our clients in Australia we will encourage the use of local Australian printers rather than shipping printed material from NZ.
- We openly encourage dialogue and education in this area. If any of our clients or suppliers can suggest ways that we can improve in the area of sustainability then we encourage you to give us your feedback. Please contact Nigel.
- We choose to buy our toner cartridges from a company who also collect and recycle the cartridges.
- Most of the team live within 2km of the studio. Nigel chooses to walk to work on days when he doesn't need the car for meetings.
- We email clients' invoices (unless they specifically request hard copy).
- We recycle glass, plastics, paper/board in the studio.
- Anita and Nigel have been Greenpeace supporters since the mid 1980's.
- We have chosen to work with some clients with good sustainable practices. Bamboo Graffiti are involved in producing garments and flooring from bamboo because of it's environmentally friendly properties. Chow:Hill are architects with an excellent track record in sustainability. We design Energy NZ magazine which presents lively debate from all sectors of the energy industry including renewable energy sectors.
- And finally, whenever a client rejects a good idea we save it and recycle it for the next client - that's a joke :)
